Subject: Mounting 2 bank charger

I just picked up a cabelas charger and is says do not mount on carpeting, but all my compartments are carpeted, it doesn't say why or any alternatives so my question is will this harm the charger? Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Thomas

try screwing a couple of 2x2 's in then mounting it on those, this will give you a little room for air flow under it as well, i am looking at getting a charger as well and am going to do this

this is because of the airflow or cooling the charger needs. With some chargers, you will see small "stand" on them to get air behind the unit. Carpet will close that off causing the charger to die sooner in life

I'd make some spacers out of aluminum pipe instead of the 2x2's.
