My season in WI starts at the end of May but for the last several seasons my opening weekend catches have come on Hardheads (the 8 oz size), Triple D's, Depthraiders, Mag Dawgs... pretty normal size baits. I didn't catch anything opening weekend last year but my Dad boated a 40 on an 8" Slammer. I like them too - a little on the smaller side if you like that early on and they look nice in the water.

6 inch Grandma and small bucktail. I just got 3 Mepps Aglia Tandem. It have two treble hooks and only 5 inch long. It should be good for early spring!

So far my most produtive early season bait is a Super Model. LOL!
I admit that my sample size is quite small.

Nice! It appears that Jeff actually knows the muskie's favorite spring lure, rather than his own. Thanks for the conclusive data!

My favorite is the Chaos Tackle Medussa and/or a handful of Musky Innovations products, however I have no idea what muskies like in the spring.
