| I am looking for a round reel, high speed...around 6.4 to 1 or so. Without a thumb-bar disengage button I think. This is important as I will be using the reel primarily for jerkbaiting or fast ripping baits including big spinnerbaits with a #10 colorado but with my thumb firmly planted on the spool so the forces are not transmitted to the gear train / anti-reverse and the 6.4 to 1 is for line pick up basically. I have tried a couple of reels but I can't seem to get over accidentally pressing the thumb-bar when I press on the spool as I described so a tough, round or old style reel seems the way to go. (I won't be trying to burn cowgirls with it.) Any suggestions? |

Location: beloit | Maybe look into an older 6600 c4 or maybe even a saltist 20 levelwind. |

Location: Canada | My Avet JX is 6.0:1 and uses a lever drag (no thumbar) but it also has no levelwind either if that makes a difference to you.
