It's a 2002 lund 1700angler ss with a 90hp yamahe 2 stroke. never had a yamaha before, i have heard they are good motors though, any one have/had one? cant wait to get out of this sand and onto the water!!! thanks to the guy selling it, think he is a member on here i really appreciate it!!

I concur with the earlier posts welcome back and thank you for your service.

I have no experience with a 2 stroke Yamaha but have ten years with a 1900 Lund Pro V. You will not be disappointed with the performance of the Lund.

Good luck!

Thank you sir! and glad to hear you will be home soon.. I have a 2000 yamaha 150 2 stroke. Every year when I put her in the drink for the first time of the season sense 2000 it has started first turn of the key. Only times I have had any problems with her have been my fault. Bumped the kill switch with my knee in the middle of leech with four to five foot rollers, took me a good 10 or 15 mins to realize that my kill switch was on the floor of the boat; and not having my connections on the battery tight enough. Other then me pulling those couple stupid moves It has always ran as good as when it was purchased. I will never own anything but a Yamaha because of it.

I have a relationship with a specific motor company that I like, but I will relate a comment made to me by the very first person to ever make a million dollars as a pro angler. He said, "What matters to me is if they have a trailer and a guy here to fix it!" He was, naturally, talking about the companies that supply trailers, mechanics and parts at events, but I would put similar advice to you. It's not so much the brand of the used motor as how convienent a service provider for that brand is readily available for you when you need it--and you will need it. So, if there is a shop in your area, with great mechanics, and a good rep for helping customers who own that specific brand....well then I would proceed. If you have to go two states away to find a dealer, well then I would make another choice. Marty

Thank you for your service,Can't say enough good about the men and woman in the armed forces. I went through the chasing boat deals myself a few years ago. was is route to a couple when they sold out from under me. drove 1100 miles and payed a bit extra to get the Lund I have today. Looking back now so what. I believe I have the boat I was meant to have and I love every minute in it.

Thank you for your service, the lakes and muskies will definitely welcome you home! I have a very similar rig to the one you described, I have a 2002 Lund Mr Pike 16 with a 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke that I bought used 3 years ago. Really great boat and motor, however, the oil tank in the motor seems really small and it is kind of thirsty on oil so keep an extra quart in the boat if you are doing much running. Good luch on your boat search and won't go wrong getting a Lund as long as it was well maintained by the previous owner.
