I have not used dive and rise jerkbaits and looking for opinions and feedback on Suicks, Big Fork Sand Cats and Musky Town Bobbie Sue. Any preferences, pros and cons of each or recommendations? thanks

I throw a lot of suicks. I prefer the weighted ones just because it gives you a little more hang time in the strike zone. though sometimes having a faster more erratic action the the un-weighted versions tends to do the job better. It all just depends on your confidence level with each bait, and the conditions you're fishing. I also prefer black with a hint of orange somewhere on the body, or fire tiger also works well for me.

I used to throw suicks...however I tend to stay away from any of the baits that have the metal tails on them just personal preference. I like to throw weighted sledges, theyre pretty much a no-brainer when it comes to working them. I started throwing Lunge Lumber Lures and like those a lot. Leos and Newmanns are also good but ive noticed that sometimes I get ones that dont swim right.

I use an unweighted firetiger suick for 50 % of my casting. I fish it by just teasing it through heavy slop. I often add a #0 spinner to the tail to get a little extra flash and make the lure chop up and down in a straight line with little fouling. More often than not I remove the tail hook as this is the one that swings around and hooks the eye area.

This year I have one coated with envirotex which may stand up a little better

I dont know if its anything I dont like necessarily. I caught one pike on a 9" suick and after that it never ran right again no matter how I adjusted the tail or the eye. Not sure why nor do I think its a reflection of suicks they obviously produce big time...just prefer to use the other ones

Check to make sure all the hook hangers are perfectly in line, that causes huge issues if they aren't.

Caught my first muskie on a firetiger Suick. They seem to do better on stained water applications although I have never tried a weighted one in clear water. In clear water I do better with rubber. Great cold front bait for tossing up close to heavy cover when they're in it.

You didn't ask about it but I'll mention it anyway. I really like the Big Daddy's from Musky Mayhem, both weighted and unweighted. They are super easy to use and its much easier getting them down deeper than a suick or a bobbie bait because they have a diving lip. They also have a wider tail fin and if you bend down the tips on one side or the other you can get a really good tail wiggle out of them on the dive and in the 8. The walleye has treated me well.

Highly recommend the MDR Chopper! Has two eyelets for different depths, has a great wobble/wiggle on the rise, and will even roll over on the dive.

I love the Slow Tease by Hawg Seekers Tackle. They have a great action and are a little bigger in prolile than the suick. But the suick has been a producer more often than not...
