Any great way of removing the old sticker from the side of the boat?

Try a hair dryer. Auto parts stores also carry products to remove stickers.

Peel the sticker off, Then use Goo Gone or Goof Off to get rid of the glue.

x2 on the hair dryer first, then goo gone to remove any residue....then make sure you clean off any goo gone residue with Windex. Once, clean and try, you are all set.

Hair dryer or heat gun is a must. With Ohio stickers it still leaves a series oh small circles that were part of the sticker. 3M sells an adhesive remover that most auto parts store carry. Never tried the Goo Gone, may work just as well.

I used goo gone on a lot of things at my old job, great stuff. However, you want to be careful what you put it on because it can take the varnish or finish off of surfaces. Might want to try it on a small section of your boat before you go smearing it all over.

I just sold my Tuffy, and took lots of sponsors stickers off
I used goof off. No hair dryer. I sprayed lots on and let it soak then went back and started pealing. Sprayed more goof off on then wiped glue residue off. Then sprayed windex on to clean up and looks good as new. I have done this many times. Some come off easy, some are a pain and take several applications of spray.
Good luck,

hairdryer is a lot easier and faster....get the sticker good and hot and it peels right off.
no need to waste time.

After you take the sticker off use wd-40 to remove residue. Works great for me. Be careful with goof off. It will take paint off.
Good luck

My stickers (OH) pull off, in one piece, after a good soak in the hot sunshine. WD (the duct tape of spray chemicals) takes any remaining adhesive.
