Location: Hugo, MN | You can thin the E-tex with a small amount of acetone and seal it with that. I like to have a flawless surface to paint on, so I'll put a second coat of E-tex on before my white base coat. Depending on what pattern I'm doing, I may put another layer of epoxy over the base coat and start painting from there. I do thin most of my epoxy, even on top coats, because I feel it lays smoother and it adds less weight. To each his own, but I'm not a fan of poly sealers and primers. I've seen too many lures that peel back, leaving a nice clean white primer coat behind. I've never had a bait peel the way I do things. |

| I seal them with a couple coats of sanding sealer---sand and use a spray ZINSER primer----sand lightly--and ready for paint. |

Location: Glen Ellyn Il | I also use sparurethane and mineral spirit 50/50 mix. Make sure you stir the sparurethane can before mixing, also after soaking the baits for 15 to 20 minutes make sure you wipe off the baits, take all excess urethane mix off otherwise you will end up with a gummy mess. I also use Bloxygen to preserve the remainder of the sparurethane. Home Depot has sparurethane and bloxygen at Grainger
For clear topcoat you cannot go wrong with Envirotex Lite at Menard
Have fun building baits
