Hey guys. I want to catch a tiger muskie real bad. I am not sure if the lake i fish has them. They have northern pike and regular muskie. I know a tiger muskie is a hybrid of the muskellunge and northern pike so then there should be some tiger muskie in them to right? Just wondering...

I am thinking there probably is tiger musky because there is a lot of northerns and a fair amount of muskie.

Posts: 265 Location: Manitowish Waters WI | I live on Rest Lake, the chain does hold hybrids but they are very hard to come by and even harder to target. I have caught 5 in my twenty years fishing the chain and all of them were on accident while walleye fishing. The largest was 30 inches. About 5 years ago I had a large fish I saw multiple times fishing summer ciscos that I could swear was a hybrid and it was huge!!! Never heard of it being caught or did I see it since that July.

Posts: 1287 Location: WI | The Chippewa Flowage seems to have a decent population of hybrids. So does Lac Vieux Desert from what I've heard. I've only caught one, and that was on the Chip. I'm guessing your odds for a tiger (natural) are higher in the most northern sections of the state where the springs run late and spawnig times overlap.
