Subject: Help me choose a TI rod

Hi all, I want to order a TI rod to go along with my LT 8' top and tail.

I'm thinking the 9' XH in a split grip to handle super D'S and bucktails etc. Would that be a good option? Or should I look at something heavier? What about split grip or full grip?

I don't have a big collection of rods so it'd be nice to choose one that covers off a few things.

Thanks.

The XH will work good for those lures. I have the XH w/split grip & like it a lot but wish I would have bought the full grip instead. The split grip doesn't feel comfortable when I tuck it under my arm.

"The split grip doesn't feel comfortable when I tuck it under my arm."

That's what I'm concerned about also. Anyone else able to comment on split vs full?

I have a 9' XH split grip and like it. I would recommend going somewhere and trying some other brands in full and split to see if you have a preference.

FYI-- Tackle Industries will have a booth at the Milwaukee, Michigan and Madison show and my rods will also be at the New London show and Wisconsin Musky Expo show.

I have both split-grip and full grip models in the XH and I prefer the full grip.

9' XH. If you don't like the split grip, get the full grip. It's just a matter of personal preference. If you hold the rod by the foregrip, you'll probably want a full rear grip. Holding by the foregrip usually puts the blank from the split grip right in your ribs. Personally, I never use the foregrip, even when fighting fish. All my rods are split grips.

I have a fair number of people in my boats over the summer. This year I ordered more T.I. split grip rods. They were preferred over the solid handles and over rods costing twice as much!! Personal choice is the split grips too. I think they are more comfortable under the arm myself. I don;t think you can go wrong with a rod from James. Jake

I have 3 TI rods and I love them all. A 9' XH is a great rod to cover lots of baits. Heavy enough to throw bigger rubber and still can sling out the bucktails. You will not regret getting a TI rod and my guess is it wont be your last. James is the man.
