What is the most durable spray-on (areosol can) clear coat you have found? I have brushed on the two part epoxies for crankbaits, but I am painting a few blades and would like to spray on the clear coat.

Thanks in advance!

I use 2. One is a 3-part from House of Kolor. It's an automotive clear coat so it's tough. The other one that I use is spay-on Envirotex. It's good on walleye lures and as a spray between coats for adding special highlight like Kameleon Kolors.

The rattle can lacquer will do the job but it won’t last long, maybe for the life of the bucktail though.

The 2 component auto urethanes are the best like Beaver said, and you can get it in a can now http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_2_part_2k_aerosol.cfm  But be careful with those 2k urethanes though, the isocyanates in the catalyst can kill you.  You need a spray booth, niosh mask, gloves, skin, and eye protection.  Bummer part of the 2k can is once you activate it the clock starts ticking on its pot life so you need to use it or lose it

Here is a curious question. I was just at Lowe's buying some wood glue and I noticed they have contact cement for wood. Goes on clear and dries in 30 to 40 mins. I know some people use Devcon for clear coat but has anyone ever tried this.

I have used the contact cement for laminating wood but not for coating paint jobs. I don't think I would either. Like the Beav and Mike said, two or three part auto clear is the better way to go.
All I use is two part auto clear. I buy it by the gallon and mix what I need at the time. Mike is correct on the contents and the proper safety equipment is a must if you want to save your lungs.
I also use solvent based lacquer for all my work so I found that a good Pasche spray booth was a very good investment for me.
It will suck the air right out of the place if you don't have a small vent.
