I am considering this boat and wonder how good of a boat it is for multi species fishing? It will be used primarily for fishing and little if any skiing.

Hi Pondigger,

A few questions on the reatta

1) Can a kicker motor be added?

2) do the rear seats fold down to step on?

3) reliability of the 225 HO evenirude?

4) How is it for fishing for musky and bass?

5) Overall performance and ride in large water?

6) rod locker length?

Thanks
Shep

What is an 05 Ranger F&S going for? There's probably better options available for a fishing boat.

I don't have a kicker on mine....I would think you could add one.......mine has a 225 opti on the back.....rear seats pop out and go on a post for the front and back deck.....the wife fishes the back ,I have a higher post up front with a bike seat.....rod locker is only 6' 6" I believe, but I can get a 7' walleye rod in it......it only has room for 2 trolling motor batteries....but my 24v moves it quite well.....the seats are too low.....I built mine up 3".....ranger has no option to elevate the seats.....ranger also has no factory rails for rod holders......the gunwale is too narrow......the boat rides way better than my old 17' aluminum.....had it on LOTW last summer.....one day with pretty good winds......did ok.....the bow is pretty streamlined and tapers down to the water.....a 210 reata has probably 6" less freeboard at the bow than a 620 or 621 so the chances of spearing a wave are greater in the 210 reata.....the boat has a ton of storage tho.....I also built my own front deck extension.....ranger wanted $400 for one.....the front seatpost hole is real close to the opening above the rod locker.....I didn't want to fall into that opening setting a hook on a fish......definately not as fishing designed as I hoped for......but it was $7000 less than a comparable 620 or 621 of the same age and power.......one more thing......no room on the dash if you want a big screen locator......holy smokes.....sure is a lot wrong with my boat....lol....but the wife likes it and I can live with it.....how much is the guy asking for it and how many hours are on the one you're looking at......mine only had 80hours on the meter.....good luck.....Pondigger

the 2050 reata has fold down rear seats.....seems like last year when I was looking lots of guys wanted the 2050......not sure if it has rails available for rod holders or bow configuration or if the dash is more adaptable to large screen placement......just googled it........the 2050 has a better dash....deeper depth at the bow.....rail for the gunwales.....and is kicker friendly......pedastal seats.......tough part is finding one used.......dandy boat tho
