Looks like a couple of us had a similar idea this year

These are roughly the size of mag dawg. They also have inserts for JB weights. The tail has a wire insert so that you can "tune" them. The two in the photos were my summer prototypes. Both have caught fish,so they have a few scratches. The actual production baits will be much nicer looking.

I will have some at George's show.

Joe

The hard body itself is 6". The enitre bait with tail extended is 15". The body is also wide at the head and tapers towards the back.

The action is variable to how you have the tail riggged up. I like it tail "up" with a slight bend in the wire. Great for ripping

John! Ill miss you in Chicago too. Duff and I won't have a booth there this year. I have been too busy at work to get anything done in time for the show. We will be at the MN show though. Maybe you should take a road trip to MN. I'll share my booth with you

Kodak ,

Yes, these are Resin cast. I generally work only in cedar, but for this application resin was a better choice.

The bait was molded off of my cedar prototypes. I may even make a few custom cedar ones For the MN. Show. Same detail, just not as durable.

Joe ...... wow thanks for the offer! I would love to come up but just to busy with my daughters basketball and work. I have been thinking about trying a show some day. If the offer is good for next year I am very interested! Glad to hear you are busy at work. I hope it is sign of things to come. Projects here in Cleveland are starting to roll. Tell Duff I said hi!

John,

Let's keep in touch throughout the year. I think it would be really cool to have a " basement booth " at a show. You, Me, Capt. Stinkfish's Supernatural, Jerry P, Smuttly Mark, knooter , etc......

None of us would make any money, but it sure would be fun

Joe (not pederman- and I know who wrote that:( )

Looks like a Hardhead by H2O tackle with an uptown twist in body shape and color.

It does, but when I started making the HardHead a few years ago I suggested he come up with his own version of the concept. Joe has his own unique way of doing things and I have some of his stuff and love it and he has some of mine. Nice bait Joe as usual.

Similar concept as Roger's Hardhead. Roger makes an amazing bait that people love. I have seen a ton of fish put in the boat on Hardheads! In my opinion, everyone on this forum should own at least one. So Guest, thank you for comparing mine to a classic.

In reality, I actually started working on this bait as a replacement for a lure that a Swedish friend gave me. It was called a "Svartzonker" . I had a custom mag sized one that was great-until a fish rolled on it and sliced the floro I am not sure of the actual maker of the Svartzonker, but my friend told me that I had lost the only "Mag" one made (totally my luck).

The Taildragger started life as that. My origianl had an articulated tail section, but I wanted to be able to "tune" it . So I attached the tail. Roger had the brilliant idea of adding JB weights to hardheads. I thought it totally made sense. So I added that idea directly from Roger

The action and size is very different from a Svartzonker or a Hardhead. I think a lot people will like what I have. I also think that the others are great baits to own as well .

I make baits for fun and usually to fill some niche in my tackle box. In the end I will probably only make a handful of Taildraggers. If you like them, get a couple while you can. If you don't like them, you have some other great options. It's a win win for bait junkies like myself.

Oh and another plug for Roger and H2O baits.

If you dont own a Cranky Nitro- You are missing out. It is my go to small crank!!

Like I said Joe you always have a unique twist to things. The shape of the front along with the your tail attachment should give some cool action and move a lot of water.
