| Should there be a "knife edge" on the area that goes from the barb to point? I'm having a hard time getting it to do that, but the point itself is sharp. |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Hook sharpening is one thing I am very picky and anal about and have given MANY MANY MANY hook sharpening lessons in the boat. Most people press way to hard and take off way to much material, which will ruin the hook very quickly. To get the hooks sticky sharp, you first have to start off with a good hook file, not a junk one. I highly recommend the yellow handles Luhr Jensen files. Simply lay the file almost flat against the hook and lightly sharpen all the way around the hook point...start on one side and slowly and lightly work your way around the hook. Once you master this, it takes about 7 seconds. I sharpen every hook every time I change baits. It is second nature. I will try to post a pic tomorrow.

| Thanks, the pictures would really help. Videos would be great if anyone could post one of those as well. I'm using a chainsaw-type file. It doesn't have a name or any markings. |

| Any pictures? The videos are nice, but I would like some close-ups of the finished products. Thanks to everyone that has posted thus far. |
