Need suggestions on picking out a medium size pike reel. Like most of you I have all the real big stuff that we are all buying for all our bigger and bigger musky baits but I need a left handed reel to use for pike. Something bigger than the traditional bass reel and smaller than the regular big muskie stuff. And, can I make it more difficult.......I too am a frustrated left hander Thanks Rip

Do you want to spend a lot of money? If not, just look at the Abu Garcia 5500. Will that do the job?

Posts: 245 | Revo Toro 51 (no need for a 61, unless your using 80# braid or thicker) Your choice of gear ratio, i have my Toro on a jerkbait rod and i use the HS 6.3:1 version. Shimano Curado 301E is another great choice, i have this reel on my spinnerbait/small crank/tail bait rod.

A Revo S has worked well for me. I'm not sure how their components match up to a C4, but I would personally say it has a better drag, gears, et cetera. I'm sure PIKEMASTER can give a better evaluation in those regards. There are several models in the bass-sized Revo line, but the S is the cheapest. I absolutely love mine. They make a left-handed model, as well, Revo S-L.

The Revo reels are a great reel for Pike, I have a Revo Inshore that I use for small mepps, Just be careful with the REVO reels, they are build like little tanks BUT they do not have a backup pawl for the A/R BEARING like the Toro reels, so on hooksets and ripping of stick baits or plastics USE YOUR THUMB ON THE SPOOL.
