| I have been asked about the i-pilot on my terrova. I absolutely love it. Here is are some of the features that I use as a musky fisherman.
I use the record a trail route sometimes when I am fishing a secluded structure and route my trail. I could take a nap in the bottom of the boat while the boat runs around this trail.
I also will run the boat from the back sometimes with just my remote this is a handy feature if I want to have a guest in the front of the boat or if I just want to sit down for awhile.
It has cruise control. I can set the boat to run at a certain speed and not have to worry about speed control.
The spot lock is huge. When fishing in a strong wind or an area around rocks I will hit my spot lock when I catch a fish. After CPRing the fish I can continue on my route without having to reposition. A few years ago I saw some guys fishing my favorite spot on a lake and it was windy. By the time they got done fiddling around with the fish and putting hooks on etc.. they were almost 150-200 yards away from the area. I took my friend up to the area and we boated two fish. Had they had the spotlock feature they wouldn't have gotten so far off course. (on a busy weekend if you snooze you lose I thought)
The ipilot feature is amazing with the terrova.

Location: Hayward, WI | If anyone is looking at getting an Ipilot, the remote is redeisgned and upgraded to 6 track storage. Should be hitting shelves soon. The new remote is much more user friendly. |

| Santa is bringing me a terrova with ipilot. I think i am getting the "old" ipilot. Not a big deal for me, but it is 50$ more i believe for the new style.
Makes you wonder why the people at minn kota did not put on a SD card slot so you can recall say 20+ trails or more with memory cards, I am not a super tech guy but just about any big electronic has a SD card slot anymore.

| you can store 3 trails up to 2 miles each on the "old" version, or the new one can store 6 trails each 2 miles in length |

| Two things additional things I forgot to put in my first post.
First I believe GPS trails are not exact. There is some deviation from the trails. So on my recorded trails I find my boat may vary about 10-15 feet. So I would not use my recorded trails through a rock hazzard area on shield water if it meant I couldn't have a 10-20 float in trails. Where I use it though it has worked very nice.
Secondly, I do not like the cruise control or recorded trail runs in a stronger wind. The unit has a tough time compensating for those situations.
Other than the above two items to deal with I absolutely love the ipilot. I will be putting the new version on my other boat this spring. |

| Seems to me that when I set the cruise control faster (Say 1.5 -2 mph for walleye trolling) the record a track works better in stronger winds. Spot lock is awesome in retrieving snagged lures and fishing windswept points. This all lets you concentrate on fishing instead of boat control.

| Am I correct to assume the I Pilot has the Auto Pilot feature built into it as well where I can set a course and go straight like AP does?

| I have a question about i-pilot. Can you run your gas motor and use the remote to record a track, then come back to it and fish it with the trolling motor? or do you have to actually run the trolling motor to record a track?

Location: Maine Township, MN | I love my iPilot on my PDV2. I had to remove the foot pedal on this model, but haven't missed it. Ande hit all the biggies and I agree that Spot Lock is huge. Works perfect when "Fish on!!" Also, I use the advanced auto pilot and cruise control at the same time to stay on a heading without having to keep touching the remote. |
