I just got home from a Friday-Sunday muskie trip. I had two retired guys as guests who both claim to fish muskies every twenty years or so whether they want to or not. Neither had ever caught a legal before. The weather was my kind of weather, rain, wind, drizzle, fog, and almost no sunshine, it was great. The water temperature was down to 62-64. We saw 23.
I caught a 32"er. One of my guests caught a 39"er Saturday morning and lost a mid 40" fish this morning in some wild waves. Almost everything was on topwater which makes it all the more fun! The other guest missed atleast 5 legals, if only he could have done even half hearted figure-8's he would have put fish in the boat, but by the time he was doing some version of 8's, 0's, or L's, he didn't have anymore opportunities. We had a great time. This weekend was a annual Tournament out of the Holiday Bar. They had very tough sledding with much of our action coming before their contest started each morning.

Steve: Did you try to locate that Big Girl I told you about?

We looked, she didn't. We had two up there in the middle 30's on Saturday morning.
With two in the boat without much experience I thought that beginners luck would have the big girl show up just to screw with their minds!
