I currently have my rods cradled by 2 bicycle hooks screwed into the rafters in my heated garage. Is this ok or do they need to be stored upright ? Or if stored horizontally , supported entirely along their length?

i dont think there is any bad way to put them away for the year. just remember a few things like make sure that the star drags are all the way open and the line is dry. if its a heated garage you dont have to worry about the line. ..bill

You should be fine. I store mine in a similar fashion and haven't had any issues.

stand them up., lay them down.. doesn't matter. Just release your drag pressure as mentioned about.
