Last weekend I caught my personal best 48". I could only snap one photo of it in the net just before my camera died. I was fishing alone. Thank god there was another boat fishing for muskie coming up on me. I asked them if they had a camera and they took a couple pics of me holding the fish and helped me release it. We exchanged email addresses and I haven't heard back.

Am I just too eager to see these pics and share them with my family and friends? I'd like to email them, but don't want to risk bugging them for fear they may never send my trophy pics...

What would you do?

Shoot them an email. It's not like you're a spammer or telemarketer bothering them during supper. Just make sure you're cordial. Just shoot them a friendly hello and remind them. You can tell them that you just want to make sure they got your correct email address or something if you want to go that route.

I don't know but the picture you've got here looks awesome. Really, out of all the shots I've seen of fish in a net, this is one of the best. I would more than likely have emailed them already if I was you. Nice job.

Yeah I would just drop a friendly email, if they were nice enough to help with photos I'm sure they wont mind sending them. In the future if there camera takes the same memory stick just have them throw yours in.

They may be on a fishing vacation trip and so they're not home yet to do the pic emailing, or read to your email. After a full week has passed, then I'd think otherwise. I doubt emailing them too much would result in p-ing them off to the extent that they wouldn't give you your pics, it just may not be the most important thing in their life right now, unfortunately for you.

OK let me see if I get this.

A boat gets flagged over, offers to take your picture using their camera, helps you let the fish go and then the guy gives you his personal email address so you can get the picture emailed back to you.

I'm thinkin you'll be OK asking the dude (USING THE EMAIL ADDRESS HE GAVE YOU) to send you the pictures he agreed to take. I'm pretty certain he will not mind you messaging him. I'm pretty sure he'll send the pictures and not be overly bothered that you're reminding him.

Beautiful fish, that'd be the only one I'd need. Ten bucks worth of batteries says the pics you get emailed aren't as nice as that net shot.

Cool net pic! Some guys helped me take a pic of my PB this year and there was a fingerprint on the camera lens so it's kind of hazy. One of the guys took one with his phone which turned out great, but his resolution was set so low it's the size of an avatar.

If you don't hear back, don't sweat it, you already got one 48", you'll get another (or bigger) if you keep doing what you're doing. I didn't get a pic of my first 50", not even a sweet net pic like yours!

Great net pic, man!

BTW, Perhaps a good idea is to always carry a disposable camera in one's boat just in case one's digital camera batteries die, get wet or the camera otherwise somehow malfunctions.

I wouldn't worry yet. Some people are slow to reply to e-mails.

I helped a guy out with a 52"er this year and kinda spaced it off for about a week and a half. I felt bad but when it's someone elses fish you don't feel the same urgency as when it's your own. Give it time, some people don't check email but once a week or more and they might not have even downloaded the pics yet.

I don't blame you for being anxious though, I probably would be too =)
Hope you get em soon, and nice fish!

I would relish the memories made.......the pictures of that fish are emblazoned in your mind. By yourself....even better. You, God and the fish know.......and really thats what counts. That said....send 'em another e-mail.

Nice fish nocturnalmotors! I'll have to say, that net shot is going to be hard to beat though. Net shots and release shots make some of the best pictures, in my book at least.
