Whats your thoughts on either?
I have both in the 8inch and 6 inch models each brand has strengths and wondering what they are in the 10inch bait, at the 30$ price tag I figure I would ask what people think before I buy.

I think the Phantoms look cooler and have better paint, but I can't work them nearly as easily or as well as I can the HH. But I'm not well practiced on glide baits, so maybe that doesn't mean anything.

don`t have a 10in hh,but do have a 10 in phantom softail and the last time out I was throwing it for a while because it was blue bird skys and close to noon,I was very impressed with the action and how easy I was able to work the bait.I`m not sure what other colors I want at 30 bucks a lure, but will be getting another for sure.

The 10" Phantom has a killer wobble when you let it sink.

Have not thrown the 10" HH,but assume they will run as automatic as the smaller two. I have thrown the 10" Phantom and it is a must have addition to your box !
Just as easy to work as the 6-7.5" baits.

10" HH is very buoyant and stays very high in the water column. Phantoms will sink a little better. I have all of these baits and I would decide by the water depth you want to fish and ease of use. The HH is easier to work but the softtail looks pretty sweet but it only has 2 hooks so I would go with the HH if you fish up high. You will also need a heavy walk the dog leader and a pretty strong rod. Good luck!

Soft tials def look super sweet in the water...alomost like spliting hairs here cause they r the 2 sweetest gliders made IMO, the HH has a killer wobble when u let it fall because of the small fin in back but it is hard to choose between the 2. SO...only thing to do is have both of them I guess!

Both are sweet gliders, the phantom has a killer rocking action and the HH is as amazing as the 8". I would get one of each personally.

Drifter has posted some soft tail pictures of HH's on FB but I don't think they are available yet.

Any idea how wide the 10" Hell Hound goes? Any different than the 8" version?

I asked this same question of myself and others. The answer I ended up with = 10" Muskie Treats. Just had too many references steer me that way. Would love to trial all three together I think that would be a great report and video to see.

i not only asked i actually have tried all 3. this is what i came up with. 1 10" phantom $32 + 1 10" hellhound $27 = $59 1 mag treat =$60.. all 3 work great but i would rather have 2 different looks 2 different baits 2 different color patterns instead of 1. just my 1/2 cent.

Which one can be run the deepest? I realize they both sink, but the smaller versions all seem to rise to the surface eventually. Does one stay down longer/easier.

Hi guys,

Look for the Squirrelly Hellhounds at the upcoming shows and retailors this winter! The 6" Hell Puppy, and the 10" Hellhound will both be offered in the softtail version.
