The big minnow in holcombe does not sure what sizes there going to have and also there is a bait shop in Lady smith that probably has them also. I beleive you can also get them in the a little town on 40 just off of hwy D. I think its Island lake? I would call first before you make the drive. If you have any more questions you can pm me Im up there alot.

Mike, what size suckers is Larry getting this year? Heard the sizes are getting smaller that are available in MN but I also know Larry usually gets some BIG girls once in a while. I think I saw a picture of a stupid big 24" sucker last year! Never did hear if that guy got a musky on it or not... Thing was HUGE!!!

The place in island lake is right on 40. I stopped in there last week to get ice it is a bar and grill. But I cant think of the name of it right now Its something like Sheps or something like that. They were having problems getting sukers last year along with everyone else. Have not tried to buy any there yet this year.

It seems all the bait shops mentioned close 6pm and don't open until 10am. Are any of the bait shops around Holcombe Flowage that sell suckers open later in evening or open earlier in the morning, like 6am or so? I drive up Friday evening and won't quite make it by 6pm. And 10am is way to late in the morning.

if we know your coming up for sure we can make arrangements to have someone at the store to get u suckers ,last week i was able to get suckers over 15'' just not that many if u need suckers please call mike or larry at flambeau river outfitters in ladysmith 715-532-0485 before 6pm wensday night the baitman now comes on thursday not friday hope this helps, we are trying to make a self serve bait area in the entrance to the shop this will be on a honor system but everything is on camera anyway, trying to figure out if a cattle water tank will work without killing to many suckers, any input on what to use for a tank would be helpful. big suckers this yr are pushing about 20''

There is a new bait shop on Hwy 27 just south of Cornell. They have suckers and are open 6a-8p. Haven't been there yet just read the sign.
