Posts: 30 Location: MN | Well I'm finally going to get a day off tomorrow and I am planning to take my 10 year old nephew fishing. He is muskie crazy after seeing my pictures of the 41" from Miltona last month. I just started muskie fishing last month and I'm going to try to find out which lake will give us the best chances of atleast seeing one. I have everything needed to safely catch and release a fish. Thanks. Edited by SearchingDaCroix 10/22/2011 4:06 PM

Posts: 30 Location: MN | I heard Bald Eagle is in the middle of it. That's why it out of the equation. White Bear has not and I figured Tonka has so many sections and bays that it doesn't matter.

Posts: 264 | I fish wbl a lot. Just like your signature, it's a love/hate relationship. In my opinion it's not a lake where your gonna see a lot of follows, but if the weathers right...there are some really big fish in there ready to snap. Wind is crucial on that lake, especially in the summer months. Good Luck out there.

Posts: 572 Location: Maplewood, MN | I fish with 619 often. He is right, timing is everything out there. Go at times when not many are out (should be easier this time of the year). Also, fish every spot you think looks decent. They all hold fish, just need to move em.

Posts: 187 Location: West Metro, MN | There are so much structure on Tonka that it might be easier to feel like you are at least fishing likely structure on WBL due to the fact that it is much smaller. I haven't been on WBL recently, but I can say that I am pretty certain that Tonka has turrned over. At least from what I could tell there was no thermocline on the sonar and water temps are down in the low 50's. I don't have a temp probe so I guess I can't say for sure.

Posts: 30 Location: MN | Well I just want to say thanks to all those who help me with info. We had a great day on White Bear yesterday. Hopefully when I get back in town I can take him or one of my other nephews out again.
