Location: Not far enough north! | No not muskies, corn and beans. We started our corn harvest yesterday down here and will have to switch to beans later in the week. Looks like my favorite activities will be on hold for the next month or so unless we get a few rain days...
I just wanted to remind all of you guys that live in farm country to be careful and cautious around farm machinery. Especially on the roads, many times we are going as fast we can safely go and do not have great visibility behind equipment. Grain wagons and carts are nearly impossible to see behind so please watch for us especially left turns and pass slowly... 25mph in a tractor feels really fast after going 4-5mph for 10 hours. Thats why old farmers never drive over 45 they have been going so slow for so many years that 45 feels like light speed.
Nice knowing you see you back in a few weeks

Location: Ames, Iowa | Dick Tighe at Webster City (winningest Iowa high school football coach) used to say "18,000 farmers out there tonight, better leave early" when it came to Lynx road trips in October. Of course, as usual, he was right. |
