I'm sure the term "success" varies for everyone. For me, any day that I can cast without to much shoulder pain is a good one. Some days my shoulder hurts so bad that not having to fight a big fish is almost a bonus.

My kids think any day we go fishing and get ice cream or pie is a success. For them catching fish is good, but taking a break for dessert rocks! Every ten minutes its "Daddy, when are we going to get ice cream?", "Daddy, can we get pie today?", "Daddy,...". Every...ten...minutes.
