My lower unit doesnt go far enough into the water and I need to lower it somehow. If anyone has any ideas as how to do this I would really appreciate it. dont suggest getting an extension for the lower unit or anything like that because thats not an option. I think my best bet is somthing like this.

does anyone know where i can find something like that or how to make it? I dont really want that big handle on it though. I just need it to lower the motor about 2 inches. thanks

Can't get your link to refer to what you are needing but I assume it is a manual motor lift (large handle). This is the best option and can be bought at places like Bass Pro, Cabela's etc. Another option is a jack plate. Normally these are for mouning a long shaft on a short shaft transom (raising motor). There are adjustable and non-adjustable. You could use an adjustable plate and drill your own holes slightly lower and use the lowest setting. On the non-adjustable sometimes you can flip them upside down. Normally they have a 4" setback and could be used with a clamp type motor. However, in either case you need to have clearance from from the top and back of the transom for clamps, controls, turning etc.

Not sure why they say no 4 stroke, but I've seen this one with a Merc 9.9 4s on a charter boat on Michigan.
