| What bait do you have the MOST CONFIDENCE in?
I have only caught one musky so I have most confidence in on what I caught it on...AC shiner
Shawn[:)]
Good luck this weekend!! |
|
| |
|
| In the spring and fall....you cant beat a good "Undertaker" glide bait.
But is it a Slammer.....Yea...thats it....its a 7" Slammer twitch bait.
I guess I have confidence on what catches me fish. Personal history is the key to whats on your line most of the time.[;)] Sometimes its a bucktail in June, then topwater..ect.
Believe in it...and it will catch you fish.[;)] |

|
| Number one is a Jig and Lizard combo.
2nd would be a Walleye pattern Jerko.
3rd would be a home made Bucktail with a #5 Mepps blade.
These are the baits I go to when things are not going well.
|
|
| |
|
| number one is a swim whizz 6" in bulfrog
number two a metallic perch supershadrap
number three a legend 6" husky crankbait (the way it moves through the water looks like a sucker on acid! [] )
the reef hawg I got from muskyone is catching up though! |
|
| |
|
| Rapla mags and Rapla's Super shad raps. Three of my fish have come on them largest being a 45 on a black and silver black spot Super shad rap. I also love Believers. Only have caught one fish on them but i have had some real good hits that did not stick for one reason or another.

| Shawn,
This year I would have to say the Mag Dawg is my most productive bait in the box. Like Jason said, it all matters on what you feel confident in throwing. Another important factor is being able to work a certain bait properly to maximize your time on the water!!!
A few years ago I would have said the Suick was my best bait overall. |
|
| |
|
| #1 bait from opener to fall is a Raddog spinnerbait
#2 is now a glide bait for the fall,Undertaker is tops followed closely by a Muskie Treat
#3 SUICK!!!!
[:halo:] PK[]
SET THE HOOK! |
|
| |
|
| Confidence baits, and these pretty much go for me all year:
1. 8" Hughes River Shaker (sorry, nothing really compares)
2. 10" Jake in Tennessee Shad (best fall bait, but does well for me throughout the season)
3. Jackpot - need a new one, mine is so beat up right now that she settles in the water after about 20 minutes of work.
4. Bull Dawg - Canada/Indiana its a BIG model in Wisconsin its the medium
The Dawg and the Shaker get used throughout the year, the Jackpot in the spring and summer alot, and the Jake summer and fall.

|
| Starting off the year you can't beat the 7 inch Slammer for twitchin(golden shiner or fire tiger)on Pewaukee Lake. 2nd is the undertaker in perch or hot tiger. 3rd is the Husky Jerk in crawfish pattern. The new mini Power Probe is my fourth pick for muskies using the hot tiger pattern. [:praise:] |

|
| Gotta be 10' solid black weighted Suick |
|
| |
|
| So far heres my pics..now this can all change with turn over and im guessing it will be some slower moving baits soon but we will see.
1.RubberHairy perch color has been hot since end of july.
2.Slammercrank baits prototype glider,(flo. Green)seen some big ones on it.
3.Undertaker and phantom are tied for 3rd,(perch color)I think ill have a boxing match betwen the two and have a taildater as the TR Twitcher(all black). |
|
| |
|
| 1. red schulertail with nickel widewillow blade
2. miller perch superstalker
3. orange 7.5" phantom
4. doc in any color |
|
| |
|
| Without a shawdow of a doubt, hair, hair, and more hair....
Give me a spinnerbait, bucktail, double bladed, single blade - I don't care...I'll catch 'em.
Most recently though, Slammers!

|
| I don't have a confidence bait.
Perhaps this is the reason I haven't been gettin' laid lately...
|
|
| |
|
| By far #1. Bucher 500 in Copper & Perch!
Landy Roepke |
|
| |
|
| Spring and summer I'd have to say it's a Beavertail in perch with a brass French blade.
Fall it has to be an Undertaker in a "Beaver modified" Whitefish.......but the 8" Shaker is looking to knock the Undertaker out of that spot this season.

|
| I like the Candy cause I can fish them fast with min effort searching for active fish. [:)] |
|
| |
|
| #1 SUICK
#2 Raddog Spinnerbait
|
|
| |
|
| #1 Jerko (mostly the walleye pattern flavor)
#2 Burt (orange tiger)
#3 jackpot/topraider
#4 Shumway flasher bucktail |
|
| |
|
|
Bulldawgs, caus you can put em in their face.
Twitch baits,I like original Grandma's,but the fish don't seem to care which ones.
T-Bones, a Suick/Bobbie hybrid that you can cast into the wind. |
|
| |
|
| My choices are 7" TR Twitcher, 7" Slammer, my glide bait in 7". Looks like a pattern here, not to big and not to small has been working for me.

|
| |
|
| 1) Creature
2) Undertaker
3)Slammer
4)Violent Strike 7/0 Mag Willow Muskie Spinnerbait
5) 10" Suick
6) Musky Buster Bucktail or Beavertail
7) Topwater bait, lots of choices
Not necessarily in that order. The trick is to figuer out the hot 'tough pattern' presentation on the water I am fishing, and go to that when nothing else is working. |

|
| Here's what I start with on my 5 rods:
1. Muskie Treat (sorry for the shameless plug) 8 fish 3 40 or better
2. Jackpot (the saltwater version has been great lately) 4 fish boated 45" being biggest. Lost a few nice ones this year as well
3. Jerko/Squirko
4. 8" phantom
5. Topraider
Haven't caught a muskie on a blade since the one in Iowa, but I still throw them (too much in my oppinion). |

|
| Confidence baits would have to be:
1). The uninspiring bucktail.. Mepps to be exact...but you can't argue with the results!!!!
2). Suicks/Bobbie baits
3). Shallow and Depth Raiders
4.) Phantoms
5).Squirrely Burts
6). Topraiders
