I was looking at the Lunge Log and noticed that there was a 58 inch muskie caught on Minnetonka. Anyone know anything about this? Is it legit?

From what I understand it was a typo and no one caught a 58...however, if they did catch a 58 congrats to the lucky angler! That would be one hell of a feat!

I know of a 58 caught about 8 or 9 years ago - if that is the fish you are talking about. It wouldn't surprise me if another fish of that size was caught there. I've seen one out there more than once that might be that large. But that is a big "might".

I think your chances of catching an upper 50 inch fish like that would be dramatically higher on Mille Lacs or Vermillion simply because there are more big fish in those lakes. I wouldn't go to Minnetonka hoping for a 58 inch Muskie. A 53 or maybe a 54 is possibility though and nothing to sneeze at.
