Posts: 132 | I bought that 9.9 gamefisher and im having an issue with getting gas into the motor. When I try to pump the ball its very difficult. Usually when you pump the ball it takes a few pumps to get it hard. With this one it seems like the gas isnt going into the motor. The motor starts and runs for a little then dies, unless i pump the ball while im driving. I asked the guy that I bought it from if he ever had that issue, he said no and i trust him. When he was using it though, he was using it as a kicker and had an evinrude as his main motor, he ran the same gas line to both so the fuel injector (i think thats what its called) was an evinrude injector. He gave me the original fuel injector and i am using that now. So I'm thinking either it has something to do with my fuel line or that fuel injector. He gave me the evinrude fuel injector he used but is there a piece that connects to the fuel line that connects to that fuel injector? because just the tube on the fuel line wont fit on it, it has 2 prongs on the side. I dont know anything about motors so maybe i sound stupid but id appreciate the help. please dont tell me anything stupid, just looking for help. Thanks

Posts: 32954 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | you will need a Force/Gamefisher fuel line fitting that attaches to the motor or bypass the motor and line fitting with a fuel line sleeve and clamp both ends. The gas line will then be permanently attached to the motor.

Posts: 132 | Can i just use the male evinrude fuel fitting and buy a female fitting and put that on the end of my fuel line? he used the evinrude fitting on the motor when he had it.

Posts: 32954 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I'd make sure the entire fuel delivery system is stock, original, if at all possible.

Posts: 31 | Try chaqnging the fuel line. It may have deteriorated from age or ethanol and be blocked. Doesn't cost much to try.

Posts: 267 | Dirt, Try checking the fuel pickup line that hangs from the bottom of your gas tank's lid into the fuel. If it's older, it may have deteriated to a point where it is no longer picking up fuel and thus the fuel is no longer getting from the tank to the motor. This happened to me. I have a nice running 2001 25hp Merc outboard. I was traveling across the lake and all of a sudden it just quick and would not start. I would pump the bulb and it would not build up pressure. I popped open the 6 gallon gas tank and the fuel pick up line had deterioated to a point (b/c it was 10 years old and possibly due to ethanol use by prior owner) that it had nearly completely disentegrated into little rubber bits. It obviously was not picking up fuel. When I pumped the bulb, it was just pumping air. I ended up just buying a new tank and fuel pick up line as well as a new fuel line from the tank to the outboard just to be safe. Pumped fuel and ran fine after that.
