Does anyone know of any guides on shelbyville? Planning on heading down there in September for a few days.

you really don't need a guide ,work the rip rap around the dam area and litha spring cove work the lay down timber . watch where the shad are working in both those areas. swim baits and big spinner baits have worked the best for me

Andrew Veach is the best, or one of the best guys on that lake. He won both tournaments in september last year and the second tournament he was by himself. I have personally learned how to fish Shelby from Andrew and can speak for his knowledge of the lake, going out there without a clue can be really tough that is why most people hate the lake. He has just returned to guiding after several years of bass and musky tournament fishing.

His cell number is 630 205-5949 you wont be disapointed in your time with him.

Tim is right on...Andrew knows the lake as well as anyone. He spends a ton of time on the water, also. In 1 day with Andrew you will learn more spots, techniques, lures, boat positioning tips, etc. than you would in a year alone.

the problem is not bringing his net it is stopping it from flying off his deck during a tournament. As legend has it he swung a 30 some inch fish to win the second September tournament last year while others watched, he was fishing by himself and lost his net during the launch. This is what happened or so I am told.

Thank for helping out guys. Thewal2 not quite what happened but kinda of what happened. Yes I did lose my net at take off first morning but I turned around went to walmart and they had no nets. I relaunched the boat found a buddy and asked if he had an extra and he had a boga grip that was a little small for my liking (they all Suck). I did catch a 30.5 and swung the fish onto the seat of the boat and then put the boga grip back on the fish right away and back into water. The next day i found a net. And that was that.
