Location: north central wisconsin | current breaks, weed saddles, reefs, etc. Unlike some of the other Canadien lakes, many out of the way spots that you wouldn't think would be good, can be, because of influence by current. Otherwise just fish it as you would LOTW. |

Location: MadCity Wisconsin | Black and Silver Double Ten bucktails work well on Minaki.
On sunny days go with brighter colored Double Tens.
If you are not seeing fish on these baits or a cold front comes in start throwing White Tiger Tubes or Musky Inovation tubes.

Location: Hugo, MN | We were just up last week, found fish on classic rock structures with weeds for the most part. We moved a ton of fish on gliders and topwaters, but only a few lazy follows on bucktails. The fish were following basically anything you could throw at them, but timing was everything. Had a few fish up 6 or 7 times, wouldn't eat. Our group caught a few trolling deeper between spots and just following shorelines, but we had no such luck. There didn't seem to be any fish in the bigger weedbeds like there normally are by mid-July. That may have changed a bit by now with the warmer weather the last couple weeks. If it looks good, fish it, and don't overlook deeper rock humps, saddles and bars. Find a good looking spot and pick it apart. Find out where the weeds grow on the reefs and points and mark them. Also mark out the high spots on rock piles. Fish were sitting right on the high spots mid-day. Sidenote: mid-days were when we caught most of our fish, so don't get too worried about sunrise and sunset. Do a little homework early in the week and it'll pay off big. |

Funny how people see things differently. Just got back Thursday from an 11 day stay. Hit the hot weather to start and didn't catch a fish until it broke. Got 11 fish from 34 to 51. 8 of the 11 were on double 10's ,2 on cranks and 1 on ,well this one doesn't really count because I got it on Eagle while eye fishing. a nice fat 47". The fish really slammed the double 10's. Most of the fish were caught 8pm and later. I would agree on the locations. I have a few lasting memories from this trip, the 51 hit about 10 ' out and saw her with mouth wide open and gills flared,47 ran to the front of the boat and jumped lip hooked on 6 lb. test,43 had another larger fish follow it in while fighting it, 48 at the fence about 11pm,next night had a bigger fish on that just nipped and jumped just after it got off,lost a 46 or so at the boat while trying to direct my daughter on the net. All in all a very memorable trip.

| A buddy just got back from Minaki. They boated 22 fish with a couple over 50. Most fish were on double 10 bucktails. |
