| Well - got my longest fish - 48"
Of course, with muskie fishing, they always keep you longing for more.
Lost a far bigger and fatter muskie on the same Super D the next morning. Had it on for 10 seconds as it thrashed right by boat - hook pulled. It was a VERY big fish for the lake I was fishing.
It is still haunting me - I have a sickness that is obviously incurable.
Funny story: I lost it on the last full day of a cottage rental with my family and I had been stalking it for a few days. We had to leave the next day and I had to drive the boat, fully loaded with bags, bikes, cottaging stuff... to meet my wife at the launch. It was a 10 minute boat ride. My wife asked why it took me so long to meet her. I told her I was just cruising along when in reality I just had to stop by and try for that fish one more time for 5 minutes. I know most of you guys would have done the same thing:)
