Posts: 20258 Location: oswego, il | I have these two units on my boat. It does not matter if they are both on or just one. They both lose depth constantly. They will flash the depth then read the depth over 1000 feet. Resetting them and they read 60 feet for awhile and they sometimes snap out of it, sometimes not. One observation I made is they mess up on the same spots on the lake I was fishing every time. I tried the soft and hard resets with no luck. Anyone else have similar issues or know how to fix it? Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I'm guessing your transducers are bad. I'd suggest hooking your units up to a friends ducer and see if it works. More than likely you will need to replace the ducers. Also, make sure the units are set in shallow water mode, this could be one issue since you did the hard reset.

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | This is the update he's talking about. As I mentioned, the shallow water mode more than likely got defaulted back to freshwater mode. http://upload.outdoorsfirst.com/watch.asp?id=1053 To check the mode, go to menu, under Sonar Features, go to Fishing Mode, change to Shallow Water. Check and see if it's in Shallow Water, if not, set it to that and it'll make a world of a difference. If you've got the latest update, which I'm assuming you do, then you won't need to re-do that because I'm guessing that when you did the hard reset it defaulted back to the freshwater mode. Posts: 1023 | Mine was acting similarly and I upgraded to the newer software and bought which helped it work in shallow weedy water but it was still cutting out and showing goofy depths so I bought a new transducer - works amazingly now. I can read depth at 40 mph now and it never loses depth readings... It is working better than ever.
