| I received my Ontario fishing card in the mail after my first trip back to Canada in 2009. Last year I had it as well, however after several moves and lots of packing and un-packing it appears to have been lost. Has anyone had this issue before? How do you go about getting a license without this piece of plastic? After I purchased my license last year the lady was quite animate that you HAD to have your Ministry fishing card, or else you could not purchase a license I thought it sounded like a scare tactic...... |

Location: Lake of the Woods, Morson, Ontario | Call 1-800-387-7011 and ask them to send you a replacement.
They do this for free. it can take up to a month so call ASAP. If you got yours when the originals came out in 2009, you current card would be good for this year and expire dec 31, 2011. If you're next trip isn't until next year, you would need to re-up for 3 more years anyway so it would not be worth the hassle.
If you cannot get it in time for your next trip in 2011 you will have to buy another one. License retailers should not be selling licenses without your card or the temp card number from a new card app because you are not legal on the water without the card AND the license tag.
it's not a scare tactic..it's a "keep you from getting a fine" tactic. and possibly a "keep the license retailer from losing their ability to sell licenses" tactic as well.
Give them a call and hopefully you can get it in time for your next trip if you are coming again in 2011. |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | You just have to buy another card, I lost mine last year and guys in my group forget theirs this year...YOu get it with your lisc. just like last year and probably just have to pay a little extra |

Location: Michigan | A member of our group forgot his for our trip this summer and it wasn't a big problem for him. We got our licenses right at the lodge and his took a little longer to prepare and it cost him around $10 extra, but he still got his license with no trouble. |

| It's not an issue. Like Jason said, it just cost an extra $10 if you don't have it. Trust me, they want us to fish up there.....well, the resort owners do anyway  |

| Managed to scrounge it up. I'd already planned on forking over the $10.00, but as luck would have it she appeared in the boat, right where I remember not putting it.  |
