I havent really targeted tigers all that much and have heard the bright colors and all that but any tips for that lake would be great! Is Indys landing open with the state shut down?

Location: Minneapolis | From what I've experienced and heard from other guys is that they are more apt to bite "smaller" sized lures. Small crank baits or spoons would be good. Good luck Edited by TC MUSKIE 7/15/2011 10:03 AM

Posts: 13 | Lots of weeds! I would recommend using a grinder. It's a wonderful all around bait that also gives you a shot at some pike and maybe one of Cedars big bass. Don't be afraid to chuck it in the thick stuff and RIP it clean! I've fished Faribault area lakes for several years. This is the time of year when the weeds take over and water turns into pea soup. French is your best shot at a muskie though. Have fun! btw, if the water is already pretty green, i've found that lure color is not as important. Go for vibration. Something noisy will get their attention.

We'll see how we do - tomorrow morning could be interesting with the monsoon that rolled through and the heat lately... so who knows! Thanks again guys!!

Posts: 13 Location: Billings, MT | with tigers, I usually will downsize baits, and stick to jerkbaits or twitchbaits. sounds like the water isnt very clear, but I have also had luck sightfishing for them and dropping a bulldog, jig, or tube in front of them and getting them to eat. I also notice with tigers that they will typically lay much shallower than purebreads...as shallow as two feet or less at times. if you prefer to fish blades, fish fast and fish bright colors; you can pee them off and get a reaction strike. Good Luck!
