Does anyone know what size shaft I need for a trolling motor. I plan on going 24v what thrust would be good. I don't have the coin for a 101. LOL Thank you for any help.

48" to 52" is perfect for that boat, it's a relatively low profile at rest. 74 pounds would near put it on plane. Had one with a 90 HP six cylinder Mariner, and it still ranks as one of my all time favorite rigs.

Thanks Steve, I think I found a 70 and a 107. Both used and both come with batteries. Both also for $650.00 I just have to the shaft lengths. Mine has a 75 Mariner can't wait to put this in the water this spring. I have everything gutted out right now. She will be done soon.

Thanx Shep for the kind words.I really can't wait. Some guy told me that they're over rated. I'm putting in new wires and all new flooring. It was a one owner boat and was not taken out more than 4 times a year. Motor is spotless inside the cover, exterior needs some freshening.Hull has only light scratches and no chips. Can'y wait for spring. Still on my trolling motor search.

The Muskie Rampage is overrated? What a moronic statement from whomever that was. That boat was discontinued over 20 years ago and back then was a really cool ride, how could a discontinued model boat that hasn't been in production for nearly two decades and is near impossible to find be 'over rated'?

You really will like the boat.

The Muskie Rampage was manufactured by Glasway, who owned the original facility in Lake Mills. I had a couple, and really wish I could buy one built to Fiberdome's standards today...would be a stellar ride for the waters I fish.

I think the guy was just trying to start something. We were all talking fishing and boats,he over heard us and was making comments. Said metal boats are the only way to go. He said his buddy had a muskie rampage way back when said it was a hard wet ride. I would have been better off buying a deep v. To each there own I really like the design of my boat. I know I will have a lot of fun with my new find. I will learn to post pictures when it is done. I will include before and after shots.

My buddy just picked up a 18' Rampage, other than it drifts a little fast it's roomy and so far a dry ride... nice boat IMO or I wouldn't have let him buy it.....

This is one of the boats I have on my list if I ever run into a deal on one. They were great boats. I owned one for a summer and turned it. One of two boats I sold I wished I still had. I think you'll love it.

Steve, what is the difference between the Rampage and Marauder? Has Tuffy always offered tiller and console on almost all models?

I think the Marauder is a modified V(similar to a Esox Magnum) the Rampage is a Deep V.

Scooter70, I had a 1988 15 ' Tuffy Walleye Rampage for 21 years. Fished Lake Erie and most of the reservoirs here in NE Ohio and never had a problem with a wet ride in that deep-V design. Water is pushed out to the sides very well while running even though I only had a 30 hp on it. It did drift a little fast and was hard to "flip" out of while bass fishing due to low front deck and higher sides, but that is the Walleye version, yours may be different. Current boat is the Tuffy 1700 and what a well designed and thought out fishing boat it is!

Horseshoe thanx for the info. My boat was all original when I started. It's nice to know someone kept there boat for 21 years. Now that's quality in my world. If you don't mind me asking why did you sell it and about how much did you get for it? Thanx

Don't wish to tell you the selling price of my old boat, just that the buyer was more pleased with the price than I was. The reason for selling was to buy a new, slightly larger Tuffy for my retirement gift to me. You're right about quality, and they're even better now that Fiberdome is building them. They custom make the boat to your specs and the dealer I worked thru even delivered the boat right to my house all the way from Burlington, Wisc., and I live in NE Ohio. Now that's dealer service!

That's awesome dealer service. I am very happy to hear that you got a new Tuffy for retirement. I understand the price thing and that's cool. I was just curious since I just bought mine. I will now start a new tread about boat restoration service. I picked it up today WOW looks new again.

Thank you for all the help. I got a Minn Kota Maxxum 36 volt 101 for $300. The thing looks brand new. It was a deal I couldn't pass up.
