Tomorrow we can get serious chasing muskies again, this evening we went out to get tomorrow's family 4th of July breakfast side for the eggs Sue will prepare. Mission accomplished. The largest gill was 10.25", love those hybrids. Yummy...

A hybrid bluegill? Never heard of it...what is the other species in it...crappie?

Cross between a Green sunfish (we call them pumpkinseed here) and a Bluegill. Barred sides, and they grow very fast and reach 12" or more if conditions are right. They reproduce back to the green sunfish side.

You and your Dad would have been really happy with that breakfast, Thomas! Of course, she would have required you to bring some of that specially marinated Iowa Venison to add to the meal...
