| Can anyone clue me in on the best process and best paint to use for painting bucktail blades? I have been using a primer and can of spray paint but it doesnt hold up to good. Its there a specific clear coat I should be using? Any insight would be very appreciated. |

| I use a white basecoat then createx water-based paint. After the paint is dry, I use a coat of Devcon 2 ton epoxy. You can also add some metallic glitter to this if you want. It adds a little weight to the blade but holds up really well.

| I personally haven't had blades I have painted hold up well. I have used 3 different clear coats and they all will chip off eventually. I think powder coating would be the way to go. Oh- I was talking about twin blades that always clank and clack on each other. A single painted blade will last longer but try everything out and make your own decisions. Best luck in this crazy world of bait making! |

| blades done properly will hold for years. they need to be baked, and the correct clears applied. |

Location: MN | I powder paint blades, then baked them in the oven, then put Devcon 30 minutes epoxy on top. It holds well for quiet a while, but can't say for years. |
