 | when the water temps are around 75+ on the lake, pushing fish to deeper cooler water will musky feed up through the thermocline for a topwater meal with depths of 15-20ft? or deemed eneffective for a search lure i generally throw a lowrider or whopper plopper. |

 | 75* Water temps and a good top water lure will get you some good action, especially at dusk till around midnight........around rock piles with deep water nearby, and deep weed drop offs Also don't be afraid to go shallow 10-4 ft weeds and the "pockets"
Gotta love Top water at dusk.

 | Think about how short a distance 20' really is. Less than the length of many muskie boats and only 2.25 times most muskie rods. If they want it, they'll come up for it! |

I agree with the above responses, I have dozens of fish (and big fish) on top in MN and Canada in 75 degree water.. BUT On my "home lake" - When surface temp are constinently in the mid 70's and the themocline has developed the fish hug the thermocline and munch on the shad that do the same. .I have zero on top in the last 10 years with 100+ hrs of throwing topwater (Im stubborn) on the shad based lake when water temps get in the mid 70's.....Its finally got to the point where I only try the last half-hour....I love to catch fish on top unfortunately these #*^@ IA fish wont eat them with water temps in the mid 70's
