Location: Plainfield, IL | OK, I have been musky fishing for 3 years now and have fished everywhere from LOTW to Kincaid Lake and everything in between. Now I live on the southside of Chicago and have avoided Shabbona since I had a bad outing there like 15 years ago. I am finally ready to bury the hatchet, but I was wondering how bad is the traffic and is it easy to get a parking spot. Also, any reports would be greatly appreciated. |

Location: Illinois | Shabbona is an enigma wrapped in a riddle, good luck on your return quest!
Traffic is dependent on time of day, generally about an hour and a half from the southside. Parking is capable of holding 40+ rigs, and is relatively easy. I would check with Denny Sands in the baitshop for recent reports. |

| Parking is the easy part. Getting from spot to spot on electric power while jon boats w/ 10hp motors fly around at top spped is a bit frustrating. Jockeying for a spot to fish on a super crowded lake is more than a little frustrating. Between those things and not seeing a fish in 4 or 5 outings at different times of year.....I pretty much have little to no desire to go back. |
