Posts: 1220 | For all you guys that are locals, my guess is that there will be a lot of guys hanging around Smokey's Musky Shop this Saturday for his open house, swap meet, beer-drinking and fish-lying event. My guess is that it would not be a bad place to score a partner. My other guess is that this just might be the first big cash event to sell out for a long time, so I wouldn't wait for the last night to sign up. I am looking to fish a full-field event.....but please don't go in my spot! Marty Forman

Posts: 2308 Location: SE, WI. | Awesome conditions for musky fishing, but the bite has been tough W/ the east winds for about 2 weeks now. There were 8 fish caught total out of 75 boats. 2 teams doubled. Only 6 boats had legal fish. My wife and I moved 8 fish. Caught two undersize ski's. Had 6 legal fish nosing baits but very tough to convert today...

Location: Northern Wisconsin | What are you moving them on? I'm coming up in a couple days and only have room for about 20 lures.

Posts: 2308 Location: SE, WI. | My suggestion would be smaller lures with these tough conditions. Small bucktails, small twitch baits and small cranks, smaller dawgs, and maybe a weagle. Jigs and creatures are also producing. , BUT we are just around the corner from larger stuff working. After memorial day, it will be all and any size baits. JIM

Posts: 271 Location: Oregon, WI | Fished the ProMac yesterday. One of those bittersweet days. Caught one short that was too close to call and with the new rule that if it's short, that's one of your fish, 0 points didn't chance it. Also lost two at the boat, ~36 and ~39 and 5 others up. Congrats to the winners.

Posts: 734 Location: Watertown, MN | good reason for judge boats, then a judge makes the final decision on the lenght. then you can also register more than 2 fish. Troyz

Posts: 271 Location: Oregon, WI | I don't disagree with the rule. First of all, if you actually transported a short fish, you have actually broken a law and by all rights should be DQ'd. If you were to be stopped on the way to the registration with a short fish by a warden and received a citation you would be DQ'd. Yes judge boats would take care of that. Wish all tourneys were judged.

Posts: 1220 | Holy Gee Whiz! Here I was bragging how I predicted that the tournament would fill, but I had also predicted 40 fish....then there ends up being EIGHT?? We were all over fish in practice on Friday, caught a fish by accident, barely was able to let another one get away and saw several others.....then it was the desert for ten hours on Saturday???? What a sport. Really odd storms hit the next day however and the fish might have already had their heads down. So much for Pewaukee being "my lake." Just another dummy out there on Saturday!
