Posts: 299 | My buddy turned me onto Richter Anchors and although I haven't used it yet I find it to be a fantastic anchor. I bought the 18lb for my 620 so it would work fine for your 619. They do have a 25lb for larger boats up to 30ft but reccommend the 18lb for boats 18-20ft. They sell them at Cabelas or through there website: www.richteranchors.com. You can use 75-150yds of 1/2" Or 3/8" braided anchor line. Then you can decide on a 5/16" quick link, coated chain if needed. There not cheap but well worth the money and from what I hear they hold boats in the roughest of seas.

Posts: 194 Location: Lincolnshire, IL | Third on the richter...I have 2 of the 18 lbs'er for my 1860 for anchoring in wind and current. Remember that good quality line and at least 100' per anchor is almost as important. Good Luck!

Digger Anchor. I have a 19 foot Alumacraft Tournament Sport and when I deploy this anchor she doesnt budge. I have used this anchor in rocks, mud, sand, etc and it works flawless. I like how you dont have to use a chain, you can just use rope all the way to the anchor. You dont need a lot of weight either to hold a big boat. Mine is 18 #. The release is really nice because the muck, and weeds mostly stay on the bottom. Check em out. I too looked at richter before buying the digger, but decided to go with the digger and very happy I did.

Posts: 897 | I use a Richtor anchor with 6' of chain attached to a 100' length of rope and it holds my 19' bass boat in just about everything.

The 18 lb wont hold a larger glass boat in rough water. Start with the 25 and youll be fine.

Not true, there are a lot of variables that determine whether the anchor will hold and I've had my 25 pound Richtor, with 6' of chain, and 75' of rope out slip a number of times on Mille Lacs when walleye fishing. Usually it happens when the anchor is set on gravel in 2-3' waves.

I have a Richter anchor for my 620 and it holds fine, except for some of the slimey reefs that have mostly flat rocks on them. It will do ok on sand unless your boat starts bouncing and jerking on the rope which is a good time for a drop n stay. If you don't fish rocks I would consider a waterspike. They are much lighter. I had to upsize my Richter and the one I have is very heavy. The waterspike is very light and fits in a compartment much better.
