Location: New Hope MN | I know it gets asked all the time, but...
I bought a new HDS7 this year and need new map chips. Let my dad keep the old ones. I generally only fish MN and then my annual Canada trip.
What is your best recommendation for a map chip for MN?
What is your best recommendation for a map chip for Ontario? I usually fish some smaller lakes aroudn Eagle. The chip i had two years ago had some of the lakes, the chip i had this year did not |

Location: Twin Cities, MN | I tend like the Lakemaster for MN, but others might have their own personal preference.
I have put both chips in my HDS 7 and tend like how the Lakemaster looks versus the Navionics.
Sorry, can't help with the Canada chip.

Location: Grand Forks ND | Lakemaster Insight for MN. Will cost $100 more than the Lakemaster Pro maps, but you get a real cool 3-D of the lake....and now with the HDS 4.0 version update out there, it is only a couple button pushed to take the contour lines off the map and display 3D only. |

| Minnesota has more musky lakes mapped with Lakemaster.
In Canada Lakemaster has mapped the lower 3/4s of LOTW and have done the majority of Rainy.
I'm pretty confident they have not mapped the smaller lakes around Eagle. They may have some with other data, but I am unsure of this. You may have to email them to find out. |
