Since I live here in WV (heart of the incest belt),this could quite possibly be the glide bait capitol of the world. We got the Hughes River,Amma Bamma,Cobbs,Dead Head and the Wyde Glyde, just to name a few. What do you think? What is your top producer? This may also be the highest priced glide bait capitol.

So far, my favorite glider is the Undertaker, built right here in Wisconsin. The Undertaker has produced many fish for me in the last two seasons, probably because I like to throw it![]

Hey Steve, the undertaker is one of my favorites also, great colors, nice finish and hand made.I just thought I could plug some WV bait makers because I know all the time and effort it takes to produce a good bait. And besides, what else is there to do in a place like this. I don't expect to see any THE GLIDE BAIT STATE logos stamped on any license plates in the near future.Anyone out there throw Dead Heads?

I have an undertaker and when I work it right I love the action I get from it. This is the first year I've used it and so far I have had 1 follow. I hope to add a few others in the future. My problem though with the undertaker is sometimes it pops up to the surface. Sometimes it works great and other times not so hot. I just chalk it up to inexperience. I like to use a jackpot first before the undertaker, because it seems to help me to get in the rhythm as I use the same retrieve for both. With the jackpot I know if I'm getting good action since it is a surface bait. Usually I can carry it over then when I use the undertaker.

absolute best producer is the phantom!!! got so much going for it: can work it in many ways, great colors, super tough finishes, top quality, 2 sizes for when fish are moody... great bait!

I would definitely say that wv is the glide bait capitol of the usa but there being so many more glider makers in europe, there may be a bigger capital.

I don't know that I have a favorite. There are so many good ones. Some are easier than others and some are less fatigueing to work.

Another vote for the Phantom! Followed by the Reef Hawg, then I guess the hughes river. With the Phantom and Reef Hawg both being Minnesota baits, maybe it should be the glide capitol!

Never tried gliders for years, could not find any at the bait shops when I wanted one (maybe cause they work) made a copy of a amma bamma once discovered they work. For the fun of it I designed one of my own, works a little different but the fish seem to like it. Now I know why they are so expensive, they are hard to get right but, worth it. Will have to start buying more, lets see, more baits, more tackle boxes, more rods and reels, bigger boat for more tackle, new truck to pull bigger boat, new place to live when wife kicks me out. Might have to do this a little slower so she does not notice.

I'm sorry, what I meant to say is that WV might be the "made on the front porch swing glide bait capitol".
