| I am having an issue with my motors trim. I can trim it up and it will stay there forever but as soon as I try to load on to the trailer it seems to give out. I imagine it has to do with hydraulic fluid but am not sure. Anyone had an issue like this. Any suggestions? |

Sounds like it could be a seal going bad. How well does the trim work while running down the lake? Does the motor go down as you try to trim up?
I know there are some hydraulic systems that you can adjust a screw (neighbor's Merc 75 2 stroke) to either tighen up the hydraulic pressure.
It might be that you are just low on hydraulic fluid too...
gut says you have a leaky seal...

| Drives on the lake fine. I can trim it however I need to to get the boat riding smooth that's the dilemma. It only seems to happen when power loading. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Most motors have trim and tilt ranges. Trim is what is used to adjust the boat while under way, from all the way down up to 15 degrees or so. Tilt is rest of the range that tilts the motor up the rest of the way. Tilt is ment to be used at idle speed only and does not have the force to keep the motor up under more power. Some motors the trim range is weaker then others. |
