Jason,
I'm now ready to get on the water and do the night thing for a Slime Slob.Just finished chomping down on a peice of the Smoked King Salmon that showed up at my door this morning, yummy! My brother Dave from Washington State had his special recipe Alder Wood Smoked Salmon delivered to my door. While I was tasting and savoring every bite I thaught about your Salmon ventures. So here is the deal Jason,I'm headed for the Columbia River to fish with my brother next year, the first week of September,if you would like to come along you would only need to pay for your airfare. This year he caught 29 Kings from 25 to 40 lbs in 3 days! Sounds like fun Larry!!! I had so much fun in Alaska 2 years ago tying into a couple 50+pounders in the Kenai that I want to go back very badly!!!!
Sounds like they are pounding pretty good in WA too eh??? That was June when we were catching river runners in AK and the way we fished them was really cool.

Went the day before yesterday to Sheboygan and Two Rivers and hooked up with 3 off the piers. Wierd year, as many of the fish are black already swimming around in the lake yet. Many said the rivers were too warm due to the heat wave, and they hung in the harbor too long. Any input Jason???
My buddy lives north of Green Bay and said they were just coming in there two a couple days ago. Last year they were already way up river by now.

Got back from my yearly trip to AK a few weeks ago. the silvers lived up to their rep. again. Great trip except for the bears we had to detour around a few times. RH, the same thing can happen in the sea run fish if they have to hang in the river mouths too long, usually do to low water. Then they usually make a real quick push up to spawn. Makes fishing real spotty.

Thanks for the invite Larry, but my freezer is full. I had a great season with lots of nice kings. Got down there once a week and had lots of coolers that went from 100 to 200lbs. All of our 4 yr olds are up river, dying, and worthless to catch.

I prefer to catch them when they are out in the lake in June, July and early Aug. They have more spit and vinneger out there, you can eat them and you have lots more room to fight them.

Almost every muskie angler around here I took out, became hooked on salmon in a short time. I know one guy that only wanted to try it once, by the end of his second season he wanted to buy a 30ft salmon rig. Spring and fall are for muskies, July is filling the freezer around here, hey Billy Schwartz![]

Jason,
Once you taste a fresh ocean run King Salmon vs. a great lakes fresh water version, you will empty the freezer and get on the airplane to the Pacific Northwest and the mighty Columbia River.Offer is still there for next year the first week of September! Capt. Larry
