this is my first fall of musky fishing. how are the fish moving this time of year? Ive been fishing a very shallow river system. Ive had luck in a shallow (4-12ft.) bay all summer long. do they move deeper? what type of presentations trigger the most fish? trolling?

In a river, they should be in about the same areas. When the water gets really cold, look for them in the deeper slack water pools.

How did my baits work?

Same as ToddM, except also look at the current breaks caused by tips of stump fields or other objects that are at the very edge of the river channel. I find Perch there, and other panfish, which seem to draw Muskies.[:)]
