There's no doubt I'm a jerkbait tossing fool. In fact, it's one of my downfalls. I need to buy every conceivable jerkbait out there. That also goes along with gliders.

Now I've just placed an order to Rollie and Helen's this past week for Tony Rizzo's Big T. This baby is suppose to go where no other jerkbait has gone before, plus suspend. But to be quite honest with you, I've received a bunch of flack because it's not the prettiest jerkbait around. It's got the looks of a pinewood derby car, but I'm banking that it sure doesn't matter to the one with the toothy grin. I've noticed its mention in Dick Pearson's book, plus I have talked to another guide that has used it. So obviously people have used it. I was curious whether anyone has some input on the Big T?

catch ya later,
Krappie

Krappie,
I'm sure Tony would shoot me for even suggesting this.... but try the ORIGINAL and get yourself an EXCITER. The original L&L Exciters are still sold through Dick Moore in Woodruff. Kind of a cross between a chop bait and a pull bait that will easily get down 10-12 feet. It is made of Pine... so don't expect them to last as long as a Big T... but they catch fish.

The Big T is kind of a sleeper bait. You don't hear a lot about it but I have one in particular with quite a few teeth marks in it. There are situations where this bait really shines (slow and deep)... good on clear water.

Although the Big T doesn't get a lot of time in my boat....I like the bait. I only throw it a few hours every summer....but I always have follows and action on it.

The key is a really slow and long pull....not a jerk like a suick. This bait has caught some big pigs.

Krappie, whatever you do, don't surf european pike sites. You will have a coronary. You think we have jerkbaits and gliders? They have way more.

I have seen the exciter in moore's catalog and they even offer is plain so you can put your own hooks and paint it yourself.

The rizzo has rattles too and since it's more of a pullbait, I bet a curly tail would work good on it.

I bought a pullbait from gman at the show Krappie, get's down there, you should see it.[:p]

the "T"'s can be likened to bass fishings 'do-nuthin' kind of baits. don't look or act like much, but they do produce big fish. they go deep, esp. the small one! just make sure you pull, don't jerk and twitch-
