Location: Maplewood, MN | I bought a revo toro hs (6.4:1) at the show this weekend but am now thinking of changing to a different revo model. What would you do with this reel lineup.
- Calcutta 400 TE - 5.0:1 ratio - 25 in/turn - 13 oz
- Calcutta 400 - 5.0:1 ratio - 24 in/turn - 12 oz
- Abu 7000 iC3 - 4.1:1 ratio - 22 in/turn - 21 oz
- Abu 6600 C4 - 6.3:1 ratio - 30 in/turn - 13 oz
The 400 TE & 400 are my all purpose reels, won't be replaced.
The 7000 iC3 is my bucktail reel. Works great but is a beast,
The 6600 C4 is my topwater/jerkbait reel. Would be replaced by the toro hs
I'm torn on sticking with the toro hs (6.4:1) to replace the 6600 or switching to the winch (4.6:1) to replace the 7000 iC3. Or, go with the toro 5.4:1 as a compromise. I rarely burn blades so that is not a high priority. All reels are in good shape and not in immediate need of replacing.
What would you do? Thanks

| I think you should buy another revo toro, put both the 7000 and 6600 in a box and ship them to me |

Location: Mn | I like the 5.4/1 for the jerkbaits but I'm used to that cadence. That speed allows me to wide glide with one revolution high speed is less and 4:3/1 is over 1 rev makes it seem a little awkward . topwaters are easy with any ratio 4:3/1 pulls double 10's nice but a little slow unless your slow rolling supers. So 5:4/1 would feel smooth on gliders versatile enuff for others mentioned. |
