Rob is one of the best multi-species guides in Vilas County. I would highly recommend him.

No. However, he served me a beer at Fibber's a couple years ago and I greatly appreciated that. Fibber's has great accommodations and food.

I have not fished with Rob Manthei yet but would like to. He recently was a speaker at the Musky Magic show in New London. His topic discussed fishing during the fall for muskies using suckers. Very knowledgable and seems like a great guy to fish with.

Yep...numerous times.

He's got a wealth of knowledge and great boat control (been in some nasty stuff and we held on the spots to work them effectively.)

If you're thinking of spending time in the boat with him, I'd highly recommend it!

Yep... been in the boat muskie fishing and walleye fishing... fun guy to be around. He got me good though one day muskie fishing, standing behind me as I was reeling in a buck tail he did the old tap the cork trick....sure feels like a muskie hit to me!! We had a good luagh out of it. He knows what he is talking about and can put you on fish.

Never fished with him, but I have fished against him----and lost! I also like to stay there in the lodge rooms above Fibbers, which are clean, all that you'd want, reasonable and the restaurant is classic up-north. Also a really nice crowd in the bar at night where musky talk is likely to be found. Marty Forman
