Awesome underwater video on Keyes Outdoors today.  If you didn't see it watch it on their website.  "Hayward area muskie hunt part 2".

I just checked the website and its not ready for downloading yet, but I'm sure it will be very soon.  Keep checking, its worth it.

I agree. Best footage I ever seen!! The 30"er that went around 20 times in the figure 8, before eating the double dawg, was awesome! Definatly check it out!!

It gives you the reason to continue the figure 8 a little longer than most of us probably do in stainned or low visibility conditions. This friend of mine used to continue with the 8 until I would start laughing at him, but maybe it's the reason for it.

And the video they showed on their show was in fairly clear water with the aid of an underwater camera, as well. Obviously, this was the reason that Steve continued making numerous and excessive figure-8's. He embellished and said the fish went around the figure-8 "a couple hundred times", but nonetheless, it was more than a "few".

How can we be sure as anglers the samething isn't happening in very murky and/or stained water conditions??  ...we can't.   And I'm not talking about water that's just slightly off-color or cloudy. I'm talking about stained, murky water like most flowages are... as pointed out in the show, if Steve had not continued figure-8'ing his bait and simply picked it up out of the water to make another fast cast - he would not have caught the fish that he did.

I've had them "leave" and then come back and eat in stained water. Made me feel dumb about all the fish that came in didn't eat previous to that.

if only we knew how many times we took a lure out of the water and away from a big fish... my guess is we'd be kickin ourselves hard!!!
