Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | Call Spirit Lake IA and they can tell you. You can either send it back for them to fix or with the number off the bottom of the reel they can tell you what you need.

Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | I'd recommend learning how to clean the reel yourself. I have seen and had reels that were believed to need new bearings or gears and all they needed was a good cleaning. I got two 5600C4 reels from a guy last year who thought his reels were frozen and all they really needed was a good cleaning. I cleaned them, swapped out the gears to 5.3:1, added power handles, replaced a couple of minor parts just because, and they were good to go. It doesn't matter what brand reels you are talking about, a dirty reel never works well.

That tiny brass washer that you found after you were done? Goes underneath the main drive gear. 3. That stupid E-clip that holds the handle on? Yeah, you need that. And yeah, it did go flying across the room. 4. Too much oil and grease is almost as bad as not enough 5. Unless you have the Carbonex (?) drag washers, you shouldn't have any oil or grease on them. Chances are they are covered in it, but it's not supposed to be there.
